About the Artist

Hello there!  My name is Caitlin Jewell and I am a self-taught potter - but let me tell you a little bit more about myself and this lil' shop of happiness I created:

 

Well, first of all, I'm sure you're wondering what the word "cewell" means - and why this shop is called "CEWELL Art Stuff"?  You see "cewell" is actually pronounced like "cool" (and pretty much means the same thing) and is a play-on-words for Caitlin Jewell (that's me!) ...it's an adjective/double entendre that will be slapped all over anything I create and represents whatever I find cool - like art...stuff!  I wanted a name that represents who I am and all of my interests - and that's why I called this shop "CEWELL Art Stuff."  (And yes, I am very aware of my geeky status.)

 

This lil' shop is not only a home for Lil' Doodz but also a platform where all of my inspirations can come together.  I do not wish to focus and restrict one interest of mine as a "hobby" for the rest of my life - this shop will/is giving me the freedom, inspiration and motivation to do and share EVERYthing and ANYthing that I love and that is "cewell":  designing, creating, hand-building, drawing, painting - whatever my heart desires and my mind dreams up.

 

Here I will express every extension of my personality - everything that makes me, me; everything that makes me "cewell."  For years I lived in doubt and procrastinated in starting this shop - I would create something; get inspired by something better; scrap whatever I just started; repeat.  Though I never got anywhere with this OCD-plagued practice, I have learned that my creativity and ideas are always growing and that I should just start sharing my progress (even if I am unsure of whether or not it is "good enough" to share).  Something always comes from something.  The whole purpose for finally establishing this shop is to illustrate my inspirations (literally and figuratively) - even if what I'm sharing along the way is usually something I would scrap for not being "perfect."

 

 

My motto (starting back in 2019) is "someone is going to like it - so just put it out there!"

 

I am realizing more and more as I get older that I actually have the power and ability to make my own choices that could potentially make what I want become a reality.  Crazy, right?  **please note sarcasm** But it's true - it's all up to me - and exposing myself to the world is my choice (a scary one - but mine).  The world is full of opportunities and possibilities - and so is the internet!  Who knows where this journey will take me... I'm excited.

So in a nutshell:  this is my shop; this is all about me; these are the things I love; and this all of my CEWELL Art Stuff.
